Cultivate Mindfulness and Boost Productivity: The 6-Minute Success Journal

The Project
The 6-Minute Success Journal is a powerful tool designed to help individuals achieve their goals while maintaining focus and relaxation. Created by the makers of the acclaimed "6-Minute Diary," this journal effectively combines mindfulness and productivity. By integrating proven techniques and scientific knowledge, the journal assists users in establishing consistent habits and setting meaningful goals that align with their values, filter tasks and prioritize those that have a positive impact on their lives, all in just six minutes a day.

The design of the journal presented a challenge as it was part of the 6-Minute Journal series, sharing predetermined visual elements with the existing 6-Minute Diary in the market. It adhered to the same cover design, typography, graphics, and color palette as the 6-Minute Diary. This uniformity ensured recognition as a cohesive component of the 6-Minute Journal series, targeting the same audience that utilized the 6-Minute Diary on the German and English markets.

My Role
I played a key role in designing the product, coming up with the layout, coordinating the project, managing printing, and ensuring quality. Throughout the process, I worked closely with the editorial team, as well as the design lead, Sevnur Acar-Spenst, who assisted me in conceptualization, design, and execution.

Form Follows Function: The Fusion of Planner and Theory Book
The design concept and structure of the 6-Minute Success Journal aim to optimize daily planning and personal growth, presenting a unique challenge of combining a planner and a theory book. Combining mindfulness and productivity it includes e.g. pages for effective scheduling, notes, appointments, and habit-tracking, gratitude exercises, a "To-Relax List," task prioritization, and productivity strategies. A theory section provides practical insights on focus, routines, values and goal alignment.

The color palette complements premium, sustainable materials, blending warm gold and black-gray tones with French linen and high-quality creamy paper. The typography is thoughtfully chosen to embody the core principle of form following function. Bodoni brings elegance to headlines, while Futura provides a clean, minimalist feel for various elements such as daily structure, planning, and text. This intentional contrast enhances both functionality and visual appeal, reinforcing the journal's focus on mindfulness and productivity.
